It's a challenge for Australia to set fresh records.

The greatest achievements have been successfully scaled.

This is the team that has won seven Cricket World Cups, in addition to another six T20 titles, and previously enjoyed 1,294 days unbeaten in 50-over cricket.

The secondary achievements, those for the peak baggers, are all that remain for a team that has achieved everything.

The fact it required as late as Sunday's success by three wickets over India for them to achieve their initial ODI chase over 300, reclaiming their record for the biggest in women's cricket's 50-over format, is, honestly, a compliment to the pitchers that have worn canary yellow over the last half-century.

It's difficult for their batters to maintain a record if not provided the chance.

In the end, the consequence of Australia giving up 330 runs was leader Alyssa Healy receiving an opportunity to produce her latest masterpiece.

Then best known as the teenage relative of renowned former Aussie wicketkeeper Ian, she first played in 2010 after Australia failed to win either of the T20 or ODI World Cups from the prior year and has witnessed all through 15 successful years since.

A T20 World Cup win arrived three months after her first appearance and seven international trophies have resulted from 10 efforts across formats.

The determined wicketkeeper was also there in Derby in 2017 when a semi-final setback by India momentarily interrupted the successful run.

That loss "motivated us to rethink our standards," Healy commented earlier.

At the following one-day championship in New Zealand, Healy made 170 against England in the final and was named player of the tournament. She ensured her country would not fail again.

The question of whether this recent magnificent innings surpassed that earlier display remains open for discussion.

Some will argue the argument supporting final game tension. Different voices suggest with the test that comes when confronting a historic chase and a raucous India-supporting crowd of 20,000.

What's clear is this hundred was considerably tougher to see coming.

The Christchurch carnage in 2022 came as she was the highest scorer, but this performance followed six innings in India since the start of last month in which she had failed to pass 30.

"For those following me in training, it was a challenging time because it seemed my form was missing completely," commented Healy.

"But once you step out on the field, your fighting spirit activate and you completely engage with the match."

Healy's competitiveness has always been her great strength - and an invaluable trait in taking over from legendary former captain Meg Lanning.

She was tormented by India's emerging talent Kranti Gaud in last month's ODI series, out to the 22-year-old seamer in every game, but this time it merely gave Healy's inspiration.

A single was taken off Gaud's first delivery and from that point the batsman was on her way.

"A chance to play and face the challenge with her and simply enjoy myself in that aspect, sort of got me going," said Healy.

She achieved fifty in 35 deliveries - her fastest at the global tournament - and her ton in 84 as she punished short deliveries, hitting 21 fours and three sixes.

When she was dismissed her side needed 66 more at one run per ball - an achievable target now needing a comfortable finish.

"To chase 330 is new territory so I am glad we have the confidence to do that now," stated Healy further.

"Preferably we shouldn't have to do it again but, if we do, we know we can achieve it."

That comment will be the final thing rival teams at this championship need to hear.

During the last week a belief they will succeed regardless of circumstances has become more firm - this success succeeding win against Pakistan by 107-run victory despite struggling at 76-7 at one point.

Following this Australia face Bangladesh before a match against longtime competitors England in Indore in 10 days, by which point a semi-final place may likely be confirmed.

It was at that stage they were eliminated from last year's T20 World Cup in an unexpected loss by South Africa - an encounter Healy couldn't play because of damaged tissue in her foot as she guided Australia for the first time at an important competition.

So strong is her resolve, she afterwards commented she regretted not playing with the discomfort.

Yet even as she later admitted those physical issues have pushed back thoughts of retirement, this tournament is likely to be her concluding event as leader in ODI cricket and she is hasn't yet secured an international tournament as captain.

Triumph in India would bring her to the top of her final mountain.
