Another three points in their next match against Finnish KuPS should be enough to secure straight entry to the last 16, particularly following a previous stumble against Strasbourg.

Fringe Players Seize the Opportunity

This match provided a platform for several Palace's fringe talent to impress. Christantus Uche, making only his second beginning since arriving on loan from Getafe, notched the account with a well-taken goal. Striker Eddie Nketiah added a another, finding the net for the second consecutive succession.

A Shelbourne side that had concluded their domestic season proved no match even for a mostly rotated Palace outfit. The Londoners were already depleted by the reports that Mateta and Muñoz are out with leg problems.

Despite torrential rain in Dublin, Palace rapidly took control. A flowing passing sequence in the 11th minute, initiated by Daichi Kamada's incisive pass, let Nketiah to set up Uche for a straightforward finish.

After the break, coach Oliver Glasner seized the opportunity to rest key individuals like Kamada and Wharton. Substitute Romain Esse almost scoring his first touch, only to see his effort blocked.

Esse was incredibly unlucky later on, seeing one shot crash off both posts before being clasped on the line. Uche then blazed a sitter of a chance, showing there is still room for development in his game.

The only worry for Palace was a late knock to Justin Devenny, who was forced off. This paved the way for 17-year-old striker Benji Casey to earn his first-team debut, capping an otherwise perfect evening for the traveling side.
